Long weekend ideas

A weekend, three or four days off, it’s quite a good amount of time to plan something cool! You can use it in many different ways – starting with meeting friends and ending with a small mountain trip, a quick voyage to the seaside or to a city for visiting. All those ideas are very easy to plan and fast to be done so you can use them even today and make your day more fun.

I. Picnic.

A very good way to enjoy the beautiful weather, to meet your friends, to eat ‘outside’. Easy to prepare but makes you smile and excited for the rest of the day. Sandwiches, cookies, cakes, snacks, drinks – you have so many options there! You can also take cards with you or some board games and make your picnic more fun. You won’t even notice when the whole day will pass by.

1. Piknik.

Banalnie proste w przygotowaniu, a daje dużą frajdę.

II. A walk out of the city – park, forest, riverside.

A break from the city. Check out if there’s a park next to your city or maybe a forest where you can take a walk and just sink into nature and a green color. Breathe in and breathe out with the fresh air and listen to the silence.

Niedaleko Poznania jest Wielkopolski Park Narodowy i dojeżdża do niego autobus z miasta, więc jeśli też mieszkacie w Poznaniu, to koniecznie skorzystajcie.

III. Small trip to another city.

A quick trip for one or two nights can be as exciting as a long trip. I already did this kind of trip – in Poland and abroad, for one day or for one night. Sometimes you can find some nice and cool connections between the cities or go there by car if you’re traveling with a bigger group (and at least one of you has a driving license!). Check out the cities next to your hometown, I’m sure you can find a lot of amazing stuff there!

3. Mini wycieczka do innego miasta.

IV. A bike trip.

In my city (but I think in every city it is like this) there are a lot of bicycle paths, which go through beautiful places, sometimes forests or next to the lake. And if not in the city, maybe outside of it? I’m sure you can find some nice and cool paths so you can enjoy the beautiful weather on your bicycle. If not a bike, maybe rollerblades? And if not rollerblades, maybe just legs, hehe – go back to the 2nd point of this list.

4. Wycieczka rowerowa.

V. Open city events – openair concerts, food truck festival, exhibition in a museum.

I think that you can find a lot of cool stuff – events – in your hometown. Facebook always knows about this kind of thing, so let’s check this. A lot of them are for free so you can enjoy a very interesting event and you don’t have to pay for that, isn’t that cool? Go and do the research!

5. Otwarte wydarzenia – koncert w plenerze, festiwal foodtrucków, wystawa w muzeum.

So those five ideas are the list of my inspirations. If you have something to add, don’t hesitate to do it and leave a comment. Oh, maybe I’ll add the last thing – relax. Take your time and just relax. Have a good weekend!

W tych pięciu pozycjach zamykam moją listę pomysłów, a jeśli macie do dorzucenia coś od siebie, to dajcie znać w komentarzu!

Third episode transcription

Can’t believe it’s already the third episode of my podcast! Time flies incredibly fast. This time I would like to talk about living alone, because it’s been a year (yeah, a year!) since I moved out from my family house and decided to live alone. Well the reason why I moved out is quite personal so I’m not gonna talk more about that but here’s a small story about my moving out.

Long story short

I decided to move out on the 1st of March 2021 and I moved into a new flat, actually a studio, on the 11th of March… that was fast. At the beginning I felt okay but then I had some small emotional issues with the fact it had happened so fast. My first flat (yes yes yes, there was a second after but let me lead you through this story) was in a very high building and I lived on the 10th floor. The most incredible thing was the view which was magical. I could’ve spent hours watching the sunset every day. It was a nice flat, small but enough for me. I couldn’t really put any photos on the wall or something but I tried to make it more „mine” with some plants. I lived there for 6 months and then (surprise!) I moved out to another flat. Well, that was crazy. Fun fact, once I was looking for something on the Internet and I found an article titled “Moving out twice, are you insane?”. Yes, I’m insane. I do still live in this new flat tho and I’m not planning on moving out for now.

Things I like/don’t like in living alone

+ there’s nobody disturbing my routine
+ there are only my things in the fridge
+ I feel very comfy and independent
+ nobody judges my mess
+ I can sing, dance and walk in my underwear only which is very comfy

- sometimes I feel lonely
- there’s a very loud silence which I can’t stand
- the feeling of not being at home
- if I don’t clean up, nobody will do it for me

Actually, most of the time I spend out of my flat anyway – I’m working, meeting my friends, going for a coffee, etc. Maybe it’s because I don’t feel at home in this flat because it’s not mine. Well, I already feel better than I used to before so I guess I’m on the right path to work through this feeling!

Things I’ve learned and some tips for you!

1. I need to plan things – if something needs to be cleaned, I have to plan when I’ll do it because if not, then it becomes a dreadful I-will-do-it-tomorrow task.

2. I need to make a grocery list because either I forget what I wanted to buy or I buy more than I expected…

3. If there’s a task you can do in 5 minutes, do it! Put the laundry in the machine, take it out after, throw away the garbage, vacuum. You know what I mean.

4. Try to make this place more yours – I have a lot of plants and I put some lights on my window which makes the ambience more cosy.

Hope you like this podcast episode/transcription! Would love to know what other tips you have, you can write them in the comments below.

Second podcast episode – March inspiration

March is already over so I decided to sit down and think about all the beautiful moments that have become my inspirations and made this month more amazing. I’m going to share them with – it’s not a chronological list but a simple note from my journal. Here we go!

1. Weekend in Berlin

On the second weekend of March I went to Berlin to meet my one and only and spend time with him. He lives in Germany now and even if it’s just next to my country, we can’t see each other very often because flights are very expensive… but we try our best to meet at least once per month. We were so lucky with the weather! It was very sunny both on Saturday and on Sunday. We walked a lot and visited a lot so I really appreciated this weekend.

2. International Women’s Day

Very funny, I spent this day only with women, haha! Started with my grandma, then I met my sister and my mum and in the evening I went to the Women’s Circle Meeting. I already talked about this meeting here on the blog, but let me talk about this a little bit more :) it was a very beautiful experience and I was surprised how other women were open, I mean no taboo topics. And even though I was the youngest there, I felt very comfortable and I could share my thoughts without any fear of being misunderstood because of my age. Highly recommended and one of the biggest March inspirations!

3. Coffee at café MIEL in Poznan

MIEL is a coffee shop in Poznan, the city I live. One of my favorite, it’s in the city center and the interior is just gorgeous! And my friend works there. I spent a lot of time there to write my final term paper for studies and now I love to go there and work a bit – planning my weeks, writing posts etc. If you ever come to Poznan you have to go there for a cup of coffee!

4. Walks walks walks.

Recently I’ve started to walk a lot. I live in the city center now so actually everything is near to my place so instead of taking a bus or a tram I walk. Sometimes I walk because there’s no connection with public transport but it’s not a problem for me. A good podcast and I can walk everywhere.

5. 30 Days of Mindful Movement: Spring Reset – AloYoga YouTube channel.

This is a huge thing! Yoga is now my everyday physical activity and in March I came back to a YouTube channel I had found couple years ago – AloYoga. They have a lot of practices for 10, 15, 30 or 45 minutes. I found out that they also have playlists with challenges – 30 days of Mindful Movement. There are three options and I chose Spring Reset to prepare my body for spring. A very good one, again highly recommended.

6. Oatmeal with pear.

I’m an Oatmeal Queen, you know that. This month was all about oatmeal with pear. To prepare my oatmeal I use oats, chia seeds, poppy seeds and nuts. I cook it with oat milk or another plant based milk then I decorate it with some topings like hemp seeds, chocolate drops, coconut flakes, peanut butter and of course a pear. Pure deliciousness.

7. Amazing ritual at the beauty salon.

I had a chance to take part in a presentation of a ritual at the beauty salon in Poznan. It was an amazing and very relaxing experience which made me feel like in heaven. This ritual consisted of cleansing, moisturizing and oiling skin and in some moments there was a massage with a silk scarf. This massage was like gentle touch and it felt so good and my skin afterwards was much more than just happy so I decided to go more often to a beauty salon and let a specialist to take care of my skin.

8. A lot of sunshine!

No need to say more – the weather was beautiful! I’m a sun person so when it’s sunny I feel more energized. Hopefully sun will come back because now the recent days were cloudy and grey.

9. French Tuesday on my Instagram.

Another small project that I’ve started last year. There was a small break when I didn’t posted a story in French because I had a lot of work but now I came back to this project and it feels so good to do it again! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out my Instagram and look at my highlights – ‘Basia parle français’. Hope you enjoy!

10. Podcast.

The biggest thing I did in March. I’m still a little bit confused how to deal with a podcast and a blog but I’m trying to find the perfect way that works. We will see! Also, I’m thinking about making episodes in English, but it’s still in a thinking process. Nevertheless I’m excited and curious how this project will evolve.

And that’s it! Tried to make that post not so long, but… yeah, forgive me! Hope you enjoyed :) Tell me how this month was to you, it’s always a pleasure to get your messages and share the inspiration.

Cleansing and refreshing for spring

Spring has definitely come to our city (well, the last couple of days were cloudy but still, spring is here), and everything starts to be alive again. I really like this time of the year because I feel the motivation to make some changes, introduce new habits and clean deeply all the space around me. By saying this I mean cleaning my house but also my mind and my body from the inside. So I decided to share some practical ideas on how to refresh for spring!

Tidying up

You can tidy up your home but also your mind from old and bad thoughts. I think that everybody knows the expression “spring-cleaning” and it always sounds like a huge house cleaning for hours. Well, it’s not really motivating, especially if we’re going to spend the whole day vacuuming, cleaning and dusting all the surfaces. So my advice is to spread it over several days and make it step by step. Also it’s a good time to clean all those small hidden places and corners that we skip most of the time.
Another good practice is to refresh your wardrobe. It doesn’t mean buying new clothes but to check out your wardrobe and see what’s there. Take out all the things you don’t wear any more and organize the rest. Same goes for the book shelter or any other place where you can find some things which are stuck and not used. It gives a nice fresh feeling to your place!
You can also look at your laptop – digital cleaning isn’t a thing that we do very often but it’s needed so it’s a good moment to do it. Let’s refresh our digital places too.

Make your meal green again

Spring is green – not only because of the green leaves on trees but also because of green vegetables. I really love this moment when almost all of my plates become more and more green. I start with dill and parsley but I’m already looking for other fresh and green veggies like aragula, salad and chive!

Dodawanie zielonego

Morning movement

So about one year ago I decided to change my morning routine and I started to work out in the morning instead of doing it in the evening. And it was a great change for me because I felt more energized and ready for the day. Recently I have been doi g yoga more than other cardio workouts and I found a very nice 30-day challenge on AloYoga YouTube channel – it is called Mindful Movement: Spring Reset. Highly recommended! Especially if you’re a yoga freak like me. Try doing the workout in the morning, if you have a possibility, maybe it will have a good influence on your day. I know that maybe you have to wake up early to try it but it’s worth it.

Poranny ruch

Spring is a good moment to start new things, get rid of bad thoughts and habits that don’t work for you. It’s time when nature wakes up after a long winter sleep and becomes alive again! Let’s follow the path of nature and use this motivation to change.
Do you have your own practices? What does spring mean to you? Show me your inspirations!

First podcast episode

The first podcast episode is a conversation with my best friend Julka, who asked me some questions about my blog, future of this space, my plans and coming projects. This podcast is full of laughter and some anecdotes and I’m going to try to translate as much as possible so you, my English-speaking friends, can also enjoy this podcast!

2nd anniversary of my blog!

B: We’re meeting today to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of my blog.

J: Wohoa!

B: Two years ago I shared my very first blog post. Of course, there were some obstacles that me and my friend Daria, who had helped me to create this page, had to overcome but finally at 10 AM the post was released. This was a huge thing and I was stressed. It’s always like this when you start a new thing – you’re stressed about how it’s gonna work out. So I was stressed. Plus it was another day of my quarantine so this artistic project was a nice way to escape from the overwhelming realty. It’s a funny thing to look back how it was in the beginning and notice how it changes through time.

J: Yes, we can all notice that the blog has changed during those two years.

B: Exactly! Actually that’s why we’re meeting today to talk.

J: Yup. I prepared some questions for you. You guys can’t see that but I have a notebook as if I was a real journalist.

B: Omg yes, so professional.

J: Let’s start! First question, which is going to open our conversation and lead us to more specific topics, where are the posts with food recipes?

B: Oh geezzzz… Yeah I know, haha!

J: Where are 5 recipes for breakfasts and 10 recipes for lunch? Everybody wants to know that.

B: Well, actually… I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I don’t eat that much at home, because I work at the restaurant and I eat there. Plus I don’t use recipes… I mean everybody who knows me, knows that when I cook, I just open my fridge and create something with what I have. Hmmm… maybe I can share my oatmeal? This is the thing I eat every day at home and every oatmeal is different so that’s an idea! Yeah, I need to go back to those posts with recipes. Okay, let’s say it loudly, this is going to be my April challenge to create more recipes and share them on the blog. Maybe with salads?

J: Well, this question was kinda jokie one, because your blog has changed. You started with posts like skincare routine, oatmeal step by step, and now it has changed, you share more of “serious stuff”. So the question is, would you like to come back to those easy posts with recipes or you want to move forward and change your blog to a more serious one?

B: That’s a very good question. On one hand I like sharing my thoughts. You know that very well because every time when we meet I have my monologue about something. I’m always sharing what’s in my hand, beginning with choosing coffee beans, through tidying up my house, ending with social media. Now, when I prepare a post I try to catch the inspiration. Actually once when we met for a coffee you were my inspiration because after our meeting I felt so grateful to have you in my life and to be surrounded by amazing people that I decided to talk about this and share my feelings. But coming back to those food posts or step by step content is also a good idea. Well I always wanted this blog to be an inspiration for others – inspiration that leads you to think, food inspiration, travel inspiration etc. Okay, I need to confess that the last two were forgotten for some time but let’s find balance again. Last two years were like going through a labyrinth – trying new ideas for posts and now I’m going to get this golden balance back.

J: That’s a good plan. We can all see that recently your posts were more about your feelings and thoughts, some of them were more difficult, others were quite easy and light, and I know that at the beginning you were afraid of sharing this hard stuff which needed your point of view and now you do it. What has changed? Do you feel more confident?

B: You’re right, that’s true, something has changed. I remember that once there was a subject that I wanted to talk about, it was connected to the situation we had in Poland but at that time I said to you that I didn’t want to do it because I was afraid of introducing too much political stuff to my space which I wanted to be free. Now it has changed. I feel more brave, I think. It was a process to understand that if I share something I invite people to talk and everybody can share their point of view no matter if they agree with me or not. So now I feel more confident and aware that every time I share something there can be a person who won’t agree with me and that’s okay. Once I heard “maybe you can write something more serious and just share recipes or ways to invite spring to your home” and once I heard “this post about breakfasts/spring was amazing! Love it”. You can’t please everyone.

J: Yes that’s right, it’s impossible actually.

B: Yeah. Oh and I remember that last year, when I wanted to write something for the International Women’s Day, and I decided to talk about femininity and I remember that I talked with you about the whole idea and my point of view and you said to me that everything was fine but if I tell it this way, it could be seen negatively. So I asked people some questions on Instagram to see their points of view and I took all that stuff together to create a post. It went out pretty good and I was very happy about this. Actually when you share something on the internet for a long time you can see the changes.

J: Exactly, nice throwbacks to the pass.

B: Yesssss, sometimes when I go back to previous posts I’m like “oh geezzz… Basia you were so cute” and sometimes I’m like “wooow, still so good”.

J: I can imagine. When you think about your blog, do you create it for you or maybe you do it for others?

B: Recently it was my diary. But even though, I think that when I share my feelings there is at least one person who can say “I can relate”. Oh and I have a story for that! When I shared a post about dealing with goodbyes, I got a message on Instagram from a girl who also was in a long-distance relationship and who wrote to me that she had found my blog and that post and my Instagram too and she was so grateful for this post and it was amazing. At that moment I felt that my content was helpful and cheering up which is the mission of my blog. I’m an extravert person so I feel the need to express my feelings and share my thoughts and that’s why my blog was kinda my diary recently. I hope that there was always at least one person who felt the same. Well maybe I’ll ask some questions on Instagram to know what people want to hear/listen. Yes, that's a good idea! Spring has come so it’s time to refresh and wake up and clean up all the stuff.

J: Yes, it’s time to do it.

B: If we think about this more, you can use a vacuum machine to clean not just the floor, but also a book shelter and your mind. Maybe not literally, but let’s imagine vacuuming minds to get rid of negative thoughts. And you can also clean up your PC.

J: I use a vacuum machine to clean the keyboard of my PC.

B: Really? I’ve never thought about that.

J: Yes and it works pretty good.

B: Okay, advice alert, you can use a vacuum machine to clean the keyboard of your PC.

J: Haha, yeah. Okay, back to the topic. Do you think more seriously about your blog? Maybe sponsorships?

B: Honestly yes. Okay it sounds like I want to commercialize my blog.

J: Wow, and now the truth is out!

B: Oh stop haha! Well, at the beginning I wanted it to be my space on the internet but also I considered it as a way to earn money. Maybe not a lot, but having some sponsorships would be nice. I’m not that known yet but I thought about going to some place in Poznan, that I like and I know them very well, and I want to ask them if they want to create some project together. And also I said to myself that if I have a sponsorship, I have to be 100% sure I want to promote it. The truth is that if you are known and people listen to you, they’re gonna follow you and your ideas or recommendations. So if I promote something that I don’t like but people will follow it, it’s just bullshit and not true at all, so you have to be aware of what you’re saying and recommending. But still it would be cool to have some income from this blog. Maybe passive income? Like ebooks or foodbooks.

J: That’s a great plan!

B: Yes, I think that too, it just needs more time to do it. Oh, I have a story! Once I ordered some stuff from a Polish cosmetic brand and when I got the package I added it on Instagram and I thought they would check it out and ask me if I would like to have a sponsorship with them, but they didn’t even watch it so I was kinda upset, haha! I know, I know.

J: It would be so nice if every single business plan was that simple.

B: Yeah… the truth is that you have to put in the effort to create something. It needs time, work and patience, sometimes money. So my wish is that it will work out at the end, that I can create and have some income. Actually I didn’t think about how it would end, I mean that one day I would stop sharing posts or something. Maybe it will end naturally.

J: End of something is always the beginning of something new.

B: That’s right! If not blog, maybe podcast then, or vlogs, or something else.

J: Exactly. Do you think about yourself as an influencer or blogger?

B: Well… this word ‘influencer’ sounds like… I don’t like it that much.

J: You’re right, but I think that now people try to change the meaning of this word and start to consider it as a real job you can have.

B: Yes, that’s true. Oooh! Big throwback to a blog post from 2020 I think. I wrote a post about our generation, I mean young adults. We start to think about earning money in different ways like being an influencer on Instagram or a blogger. Of course there are people who will follow the studies they did, but there are so many different possibilities and we start to notice them. For example my friend finished technical studies and now he works… as an illusionist, which is so crazy. There are more and more people who notice that you can earn money in so many different ways, for example on Instagram or creating online workshops or ebooks or whatever.

J: Yes that’s true, the Internet has a huge power.

B: Exactly! I can’t believe that it works that well. Like you can share details about your work, even though it’s a normal one, but you can make it in a way that it will be very interesting for others. For example there’s an Instagram account of a woman who is a bookkeeper and she shows that this topic can be fun even though everybody considers this kind of job as difficult or so. Or doctors! They also have Instagram accounts and you can see what being a doctor looks like. You can just share your passion and you’ll find some followers who will like it very much. There’s no limits. Your imagination is your limit.

J: Beautifully said. Actually, is there a subject that you can talk about as a specialist?

B: Well I think yes. I start to think more seriously about my French. You know, recently I realized that it’s been 10 years since we’ve known this language. Oh you have to know, dear readers, that Julka and I were in the same school, in the same class and we studied French together. Also this language has almost become my maternal one because my boyfriend is French and talks in French all the time so I can practice my French and learn much more than at school. And now we have a good moment to say that I have a French series on Instagram which I call “French Tuesdays” and every Tuesday I share an Instagram story in French. For example, recently I talked about cultural differences between France and Poland. I think that’s the topic I can talk about more, I mean in general about French language, about learning foreign languages and so on. Also, another topic is traveling, especially traveling on budget because during the last six months I traveled a lot and those trips have become such a normal thing for me, which is crazy. When I was younger, traveling by plane was a huge thing and now it feels like a normal trip.

J: Haha, yes like going by bus through the city.

B: Exactly! Another topic is handmade stuff. I did that a lot, it was a good idea for presents, home decoration or something and I think I can go back to this stuff and start again and then share on the blog. But I think that first is the French language. Oh another idea! I’m working as a waitress so maybe I can share some tips or truths about this job, but I think it’s gonna be a future topic.

J: Yes, cool, a lot of ideas! Would you like to add anything else? What can we expect on the blog?

B: Well, as we started this conversation, recipes are coming! Maybe a post about coffee? I mean there was already a post about coffee as a pleasure but maybe a post about preparing coffee. There are so many different ways to prepare it and I think it’s very interesting. Also I’m gonna refresh my page, new categories are coming! So stay tuned for that. Anything else? My thoughts and feelings for sure, it’s like my trademark. All of my friends know that I’m an extrovert person and I talk a lot and sometimes when I ask them a question, I have my monologue during which I come up with the answer I was asking for. I know, funny. When it comes to topics I think there will be posts about zero waste, about veganism and plant based food and maybe climate change.

J: You definitely have a lot of things and topics to share. Is your podcast gonna be the medium to share your thoughts about those subjects? Or maybe it’s just a small adventure for now and you don’t know how it’s gonna be after?

B: Well I hope this podcast will be the medium to share my thoughts and then the blog will be for posts like “step by step” or posts about tips. I would like this podcast to be a serious thing and not just for a month or so. I would like it to be regular but I know myself and I know that having two mediums, a blog and a podcast, it can be too much to share an episode and a post the same week so I think I’m gonna separate it, I mean one week for podcast and one week for blog.

J: Yes, you have to think how to organize it because when it’s too much, it will be too difficult and it won’t work out.

B: You’re right. Actually it’s funny that a lot of people who started their own business on Instagram, had been in a huge corporation before.

J: You’ll do the same?

B: Well I would prefer not to.

J: Hopefully you won’t have to go to the corporation to start your own business. We’re all crossing fingers for you.

B: Would be great! Thank you!

J: Thank you too. It’s amazing to see your growth and self-development and I’m saying it as your best friend but also as your greatest fan.

B: Awww, that’s so nice! Actually there’s a secret, Julka is my personal redactor of my blog posts *Polish version! English version is checked by my other friend Daria* so thanks to her they are always easy to read.

J: My pleasure, I always try my best to make it more clear.

B: Julka, thank you so much for this interview. It was so nice to talk with you.

J: I’m also very happy that I can participate in this project.

B: Hopefully you guys, dear readers, liked this interview too!

Thank you very much for reading this transcription of my podcast episode. I really appreciate that!

Women to Women

Tuesday, 8th march – The International Women’s Day. One of my favorite days during the year. I know that we can manifest and celebrate our femininity every day but International Women’s Day is the day when I celebrate it the most. Last year I wrote a post about it, this time I’ll talk about something different. On Tuesday I went to the Women’s Cycle, a special meeting for women, and it was my inspiration for today’s blog post.

Wtorek, 8 marca – Dzień Kobiet. Jeden z moich ulubionych dni w roku.

As I mentioned before, a Women’s Cycle is a meeting of a group of women. Very often they don’t know each other, but still they find a lot of topics to talk about – work, family, business, intimacy, even very private stuff. No criticism, no shame, only support and unlimited openness. It’s an amazing feeling when you can talk with someone that you don’t know and you can share your thoughts freely without being afraid of others' opinions. And that has become an inspiration for today’s blog post.

Bezgraniczna otwartość, chęć słuchania i bycia wysłuchaną, poczucie wsparcia i jedność – właśnie to zainspirowało mnie do napisania dzisiejszego posta.

I have the feeling that sometimes women trip other women up. You can agree or not but the situation between women is not that clear. There are both friendship and enmity, support and lack of help, truth with lies. But even though the situation looks like this, when solidarity appears, a huge power and strength appear too.

When I was sitting with other women during our meeting and I was listening to their stories, sharing mine too, I realized that everyone of us had a huge background of experiences, starting with giving birth in terrible conditions, through losing a beloved one, ending with living in a rush all the time. And at the same time I realized how everyone felt relieved and calm knowing that we weren’t alone with our problems. It was a beautiful experience.

I realized that this kind of meetings are very necessary, because first you can get a huge support from others, second you can meet other people with the same problems/situations, third you can feel solidarity and unity with others by sharing your experiences. Actually it’s the same for all of the meetings with people who have something in common, it doesn’t need to be the Women’s Cycle.

To all of Women, even though the International Women's Day is over, I wish you all the best, lots of sun in your life, beautiful experiences and this feeling of being strong and powerful! You’re wonderful and everyone of you is unique, Ladies! ;)

authenticity

Smiling, successful *click* photo already taken, shared on Instagram, done. Crying, with tears in the eyes – not good to take a photo, better hide and say nothing. With acne on the face, still half asleep, without makeup – okay never mind, just put the filter on the photo and it’s better now. 15 seconds of a day, a small small small part of twenty four hours. Everything we see on the internet is just a grain of everyday life. It’s just a well-chosen part of a day, only a moment. But still we compare ourselves to each other, to those little moments shared on the internet.

Authenticity is a huge topic – a lot of people, creators, artists, bloggers and influencers try to show that life shared in social media doesn’t look like this. They try to show the real, authentic and true life. It’s not about talking about everything in your life, we still need privacy and there are some things that have to be unsaid and unshared, but for me it’s better to share the truth and not be fake.

Autentyczność to teraz głośny temat.

That’s what I try to do here on the blog, but also on my Instagram. I try to talk about all the things I have in my mind and share my point of view. There was a moment when I was overwhelmed and tired of everything and I wrote a post about it. There was a moment when I was sad after saying goodbye to my boyfriend at the airport and I decided to share how I dealt with it. And there was a moment when I was irritated and frustrated by the situation in my country and I decided to talk about it too. Life is beautiful but it can be hard, harmful, difficult and this is what I try to show.

I’m glad that there’s more and more people who talk about this, about authentic life without a filter on it. These days , when we spend most of our time on the internet, authenticity is precious. Maybe it’s not about showing your very private life and private problems, but I think it’s better to tell the truth that you’re not feeling good at the moment instead of saying that life is perfect and you’re fine as always. That’s my point of view. How about you? What does authenticity mean for you? Is it possible to be true on the internet? Show your point of view.

Love is in the air

I know that Valentine’s Day is over but we can talk about love all the time. And not only about love in a relationship with your partner but also about love between you and your best friend, your family member or about self love. Love is a big thing. Overdone but still necessary to be the topic of most discussions. Well you can elaborate about it and write poems (which is already done btw)… but you can also be strict and brief about love, and I’m gonna be like this in today’s blog post.

Miłość to szeroki temat – przegadany, a jednak cały czas potrzebny.

Love is art, in which lots of emotions, feelings, persuasions and thoughts take part. Trust, commitment, dedication, cooperation, change, solution excitement, lightness, butterflies in belly, smile, tears, touch, kiss, hug, regard, taste, breathe, hope… I could talk like this for hours.

Miłość to sztuka, w której główne role gra wiele odczuć, emocji, przeświadczeń. To zaufanie, oddanie, poświęcenie, współpraca, zmiana, rozwiązanie, ekscytacja, lekkość, motylki w brzuchu, uśmiech, łza, dotyk, pocałunek, przytulenie, wzrok, smak, oddech, nadzieja… mogłabym tak wymieniać w nieskończoność.

Apart from that, the most important thing (in my opinion) is the fact that love is always present. In your friendship, between you and your sister or brother, in your family. Love is sometimes hot, light, breathtaking, and growing… Once it’s just a pinch of love, other times it’s like the biggest wave you’ve ever seen. But it’s always present. And will always be.

I zawsze będzie.

Finished my studies!... and now what?

I've just finished my studies! And I still can’t believe it’s already over even though my final exam was a couple days ago. Right after I left uni and when all the emotions calmed down I felt… nothing. Another chapter came to end, the moment I had been wondering about so often. I always had a thought in my mind that after I finish my studies I would have a lot of time for all those things I wanted to do but I didn’t have enough time. But when this moment actually came I didn’t know what to do.

So now what? Everybody chooses their career. It’s the most difficult thing in our life. I really don’t like this question “so now what? Master degree?” because right now I don’t feel like I want to continue my studies. Job? Career? Internship? I don’t know. Everything is blurred right now and I can’t be sure about the coming future. On the other hand I’m just (!) 22 yo and still have a lot of time to figure out what I want to do. I can even start another faculty at another university.

I co teraz? Każdy wybiera swoją ścieżkę. To chyba jedna z trudniejszych rzeczy w naszym życiu.

It’s a little bit overwhelming that after we finish one big thing we have to choose the next step right after as if we can’t stop and we must go on. But actually we don’t have to. I have the feeling that the generation of our parents and grandparents was in a hurry – school, college, job, family… But times have changed and now we have much more possibilities we can do in between school and studies, studies and job and so on.

A przecież możemy.

Now I just want to enjoy the moment of finishing my studies. Of course I’m planning some projects but hey! I still have time for that. Don’t need to hurry – better do what you want to do even though you hear a critical voice in the background saying you have to do something else. Just enjoy the time you have.

Words

Some time ago I got a beautiful present from my friend D. Before she gave it to me, she had said that I was the person who would really appreciate this gift because it fits me. And she wasn’t wrong here. I got words. Or maybe sentences, phrases and questions. No matter how it sounds it is literally the thing I got. It’s a bunch of small cards made with special paper, with beautiful sentences written with golden ink. Once it’s a simple thing like “appreciate little things.” and once it's a question “what do I really dream about?”, every one forces me to sit down and think a bit.

– każde zmusza mnie do refleksji.

Maybe you've heard once that words have a great power. They can hurt, cheer up, applaud, approve, push out from our comfort zone or give a warm hug. By saying words you can make empty promises or become a very important person for someone else. Words can be a reason for a conflict or a condition for agreement. I have the feeling that words can mean totally opposite things, or the meaning is different than we suppose. I think that they are very precious, like the most valuable currency. But at the same time they are not physical.

Since I’ve gotten this gift, every day I pick up a card with a daily reminder. It’s very surprising how those words fit to my day and my plans and I have the feeling that it’s always what I needed. Maybe you’ve noticed that I share them on my Instagram every day. I really hope it helps someone else or maybe it forces you to sit down and think. I decided to put them here too if you missed them in stories.

Don’t run away from what’s difficult.

Be true with yourself.

Every person who we meet is a beautiful story, a beautiful lesson and a beautiful adventure.
Appreciate it.

Look for happiness in everyday life.

Don’t run away from your feelings.

Don’t compare yourself to others.

Appreciate small things.

Tell the truth about yourself.

What do I really dream about?

Words are beautiful and I think we have to cherish them. Say them with an honest intention, so they can mean what they mean, especially in great moments. And just say them because sometimes one word is enough to change our life.

I w ogóle mówić, bo czasem jedno słowo wystarczy, by zmienić czyjeś życie.
